How to change the pitch of audio without changing its length
Drop in an audio file, drag the slider to shift the pitch between -12 and +12 semitones and download the result as an MP3. It works with any common audio format, with files up to about 100 MB.
This tool changes only the pitch. The duration of the audio stays the same, unlike simply speeding up or slowing down playback, which changes both. The shift is measured in semitones, the same unit musicians use: +12 is one octave up and -12 is one octave down, and each step is the distance between two neighbouring piano keys.
Common uses: matching a song or backing track to a singer's vocal range, transposing an instrument recording into a different key, or creating a chipmunk or deep-voice effect. For a natural-sounding adjustment, small changes of 1 to 3 semitones work best; larger shifts sound increasingly artificial.
