How to crop a video by drawing the exact area
Upload a video, then click and drag on the preview to draw the part of the frame you want to keep. Leave the ratio on Free to draw any rectangle, or lock it to 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 or 9:16 to keep those proportions while you draw. When you are done, download the cropped video. The video can be up to about 200 MB, depending on your device memory.
How is this different from the social media cropper? That tool places a fixed-ratio box in the center automatically, which covers the common case of reframing a clip for Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. This one lets you put the box anywhere in the frame and make it any size. It is useful when the part you want to keep is not centered, when you want to cut away a logo or a distracting edge, or when you need a ratio that is not one of the presets.
Things to know: you cannot move or resize the box after you draw it, but you can draw a new one as many times as you like before processing, and each new box replaces the previous one. The box stays in Free mode by default. Because a crop changes the picture, the video is processed again before download, which takes longer for large clips.
Everything happens in your browser, so your video is never uploaded to a server. If you only need a shorter clip, use the video trimmer. To shrink the file afterwards, use the video compressor, and for photos there is a matching image cropper.
