How to speed up or slow down a video
Upload a video, drag the slider to the speed you want, from 0.5x (half speed) to 2x (double speed), and download the result. It works with MP4, MOV and WebM files up to about 200 MB, depending on your device's memory.
Why change a video's speed? Speeding up a screen recording or a long clip keeps the viewer's attention, while slowing one down can emphasize an action or make a fast moment easier to follow. This tool changes the speed of the picture and the sound together, so they stay perfectly in sync, and the audio keeps its natural pitch: only the speed changes, not the voice.
Unlike changing the playback speed in a video player, this re-encodes the file itself, so the result plays at the new speed everywhere, including after you download it, share it or repost it. Good starting points: 1.25x to 1.5x for tutorials and screen recordings, 2x to skim long footage, and 0.5x for slow motion on an action you want to study.
